Welcome to the Combustion and Propulsion Laboratory at IIT Kanpur. My name is Ajay V. Singh and I'm a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. Over the years I have thoroughly enjoyed working with amazing students and professors on innumerable research projects. My research interests are in high-speed propulsion systems including detonation cycle engines and hybrid turbo-electric propulsion, gas turbine combustion, soot formation and oxidation, flame-synthesized functional nanoparticles for renewable energy devices, and fire dynamics with applications to both industry and academia. Over the past 10 years, I have worked in gas turbine combustion, supersonic combustion, boundary layer combustion, experimental fluid dynamics, computational fluid dynamics, flame spread, fire dynamics, soot formation and oxidation, combustion chemistry of jet and biofuels, detonations and explosions, and flame synthesis of functional nanoparticles.
